My love for photography is rooted in nostalgia.

There is an effortless sort of magic that exists in my childhood photos.

It allows me to look back at a time before me; at the people before me.

But most importantly, this magic allows me to feel those lost moments.

These are the memories I will cherish forever.

My love for these photos comes from the use of film, as well as the candid feeling of the images.

There is an authentic quality to them that is hard to describe, yet easy to see.

Among these images there are also the boring ones. Small glimpses into daily life, which mark the passage of time.

What tends to catch my eye consistently however, is the in-between moments.

They are the source of my inspiration.

It all begins with my
childhood photos.

The couples I photograph want the same thing — mostly candid images which capture all the big and small moments, and a little guidance when it's time for portraits.

There is no awkward posing.

Just guidance and prompts which are inspired by you as a couple.

For the rest of the day I am focused on being at the right time and place, to capture those wonderful candid moments. So that you can focus on enjoying your wedding day.

90% Candid + 10% Guidance

Just like my favourite images from my childhood.

I bring it all together by capturing your wedding day on film.

With an emphasis on the candid moments.

I'm an engineer turned photographer who loves capturing people, and telling stories.

To me photography is a form of telepathy. It gives me the ability to communicate an idea or feeling, just by showing you an image. That could be the story of your wedding day, or just someone on the street. Either way, I love being able to tell stories. It's my happy place.

Outside of photography, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, reading books, travelling, and making videos.

Here's a peak into a few things I enjoy doing:

Wedding Photography FAQ's

If you haven't seen my portfolio yet, please go take a look! Nearly every single one of those beautiful people ALSO said that they were awkward and/or uncomfortable on camera. How I make my clients comfortable is simple; I get to know every single client so that we form a real connection. By getting to know you, I understand how you two interact together naturally and from there I will guide you; so you two can just focus on each other! I will keep you two moving together—which always helps with nerves while looking great on camera—as well as playing some fun games. I will never ask you to do anything you think is uncomfortable or awkward, I want you to feel comfortable and have fun!

Every wedding I photograph comes with a minimum of 1 roll of film. I shoot either 35mm film or 120 film, depending on what I am photographing. I will switch to film for moments that I think look special on film, or moments you have requested me to capture specifically on film.

Can you shoot my entire wedding on film?

We LOVE candid photos, but do you still take traditional portraits and family photos?

We LOVE candid photos, but do you still take traditional portraits and family photos?

Absolutely! While my portfolio is mostly candid images, that's not all that I do. If it is something you would like to have, I would love to help you capture it. I am very much aware of the importance of family formals photos, and have a dedicated process to reducing the time spent taking family photos. My goal with family photos is always to get them done as efficiently as possible so you can get back to enjoying your wedding day!

I have created a Wedding Planning Guide to help couples, and it also includes some timeline examples. Usually 4 hours can cover a bit of getting ready, the ceremony, portrait session, family photos, and a bit of the reception - you can expand that coverage in either direction to suit your own needs.

I don't charge travel fees if your wedding venue is a 2 hour round trip from Toronto. If your wedding is significantly further away, I can create a custom quote based on accommodation/flights/etc. I'm happy to travel anywhere within Canada to capture your special day.

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a non-refundable 50% retainer due upon signing the contract, however if you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances you can apply it to a new date as long as it works with my schedule. Although this has never happened to me, in the event that I have to cancel on you, I will send you a full refund of your retainer.
